A Day at the Zoo

This week, the boys and I took a day trip to the Zoo! A friend of mine is a season membership and invited us as her guest, for free! We were so thankful for this fun opportunity to be around friends and see some pretty amazing animals! I loved to see the wonder in the boys eyes as they admired all creatures, big and little! This trip was perfect timing for Beau, as he is really into animals right now. He has books and makes his own "Animal Science Book", where he cuts out pictures of different animals and tapes them in his book. His favorites right now are the different types of poisonous frogs and of course, snakes. True boy.

I did take more pictures than just birds, but my camera battery died half-way through our visit! (I didn't realize I would take so many pictures!)

Beau's Preschool Graduation

Well, its official. No more preschool for Beau...ever. Wow, and in about two months, he will be in Kindergarten. But that's another post. This post is a thankful one, not a sad one. I am thankful I was able to stay at home with Beau the first five years of his life. For me, this was non-negotiable. Just last August was his first year of preschool, and that was only two days a week!:) This was by choice. To soak up as much time with this wild man as I can, before he asks for the keys to my car and I am up pacing the floors when he is 5 minutes past curfew. We've made some great memories, most of which was Beau teaching me about being a mommie. And that I don't have to "have it all together", better yet, that's the kind of mommie he needs.

So here's to my little graduate to whom I am so proud of.

Cade's First (& only) Tee-Ball Practice

This is the first year our boys are playing Tee-Ball. Here are shots of Cade's first...and only practice. He got too hot and tired towards the end of his practice and decided since, to not return. Due to his melancholy nature, this is not surprising. So, we haven't pushed the matter either, I mean, he's only three! But, we are hoping once he sees his jersey with number, name and all on it, he will change his mind. And if not, so be it.

Beau, on the other hand, really enjoyed his practice. And has his first game next week...more pictures to come, of course. Unfortunately, Beau's practice was later that day during my work hours so I wasn't able to get any shots of his practice.

Mother's Day 2011

I love being a mom. No, I love being the mom of just Beau and Cade. Just these two little boys. My cup is full of love and life. And I am humbled and blessed to have them as gifts to my life everyday.

So Mother's Day was spent at both sets of grandparents houses with yummy food and of course, lawnmowers, Cade's favorite. We are so thankful to live so close to Nee Nee & P.P. and Paw Paw & Vic.

What Boys Do...

Here are a few pictures of my boys in action...just doing what they do. Ya know, boys stuff. And of course, I have to do it too, because I am always with them. But then, it recently hit me that I used to do all of this when I was growing up. I was a tomboy, growing up out in the country, the woods were my friends and all that was in it. So tadpoles, lizards, frogs, and all the outdoors had to offer was my playground. We didn't have cable, or a city park. So, I guess I didn't have a choice about being a tomboy...or having two little boys who are just perfect for me. :)

After our family's picnic, we decided to take a little hike down the Falls. This was the first year we had done this all together as a family. And it was memorable, for sure. You can thank my husband for that. What started out as a scenic hike and a photographers dream, ended up as a soggy walk back, exposure to poison ivy and smiles on all of our faces. Denny let the boys just explore and yes, this meant, of course getting wet...really wet. But, what the heck right? It is just water, and its just ok. We are and live in God's beautiful creation. He made this for us, to enjoy and experience. He wanted to share it with us. So we share it with our boys. Beautiful. Thank you Father.

A Georgia Easter

Once again, we spent Easter in Georgia visiting family. This trip we had a little more time to spend visiting and relaxing, and it was just wonderful. I really miss my family down there. But so thankful my boys are able to see them as often as they do.
